More than 4,200 participants from 84 countries took part in the three-day global congress of implantology, which takes place every three years. Under the banner «Knowledge is key» the symposium took place from the 24. – 26.04.2014 in the hall 1 and 2 of the Palexpo in Geneva. We were commissioned to design, develop and oversee the symposium as overall project manager. This concerned not only the plenum but also the zones for exhibitions and networking which included several lounges, the catering and the evening event.
The plenum in hall 2 was dominated by a 26 x 6 m big screen in 4/1 format with a specifically made screen design for presentations, short clips and live images. Two delay screens in the same format enabled the guests who were seated further in the back to experience a similarly good speech experience.
The management of such an event does not only include the coordination of the technological infrastructure incl. the equipment for translations into nine languages but also the setting of the rooms, signage, the structuring of the decoration, the miking as well as the consulting and coordination of the referees. We managed the formation of the event’s flow and was sole responsible for the technical live supervision of the event with 11 people on site.
