The Laver Cup is an innovative and new type of Team Tennis Competition. Over a period of three days the best players in Europe will appear and play against the best players from the rest of the world. In total there will be twelve matches; at a draw a decisive 13th “Deciding Match”. The format is inspired by the traditional “Ryder Cup” from golf sport. Habegger AG was commissioned by Big Plus Sports & Entertainment AG with the planning, implementation and production of the outside areas of the event. The assignment was to develop a training area conforming to competition standards, a hospitality area, a fan zone with enjoyment and refreshment facilities and a public viewing as well as other required installations. The starting situation was an empty parking lot. As it is the first edition of the cup, everything had to be developed, planned and built from scratch.
