Stepping into the future with talented newcomers

Habegger | 5 April 2022

In the last 6 months, we have welcomed about 20 promising talents from different areas such as Creation, Event Technology, Project Management as well as many others and are happy about an employee growth of almost 15%.

What made them decide to continue seeking professional fulfillment in the live communications industry in the future? How did they experience the start in their new field? Four of them review their start in March. We proudly present: Alia, Nils, Steffen, André.

Alia Ramadan | Creative Consultant

Future-oriented, creative and with a great team spirit: this is how Alia, our new Creative Consultant, found Habegger to be during the first few months of her job – and this impression matches up with the expectations she had before starting work here.

From the outside, I perceived Habegger to be a visionary company that always goes the extra mile to reposition itself, even in challenging times.

This impressed her and because Alias’ home is also live communication, this collaboration had to happen. Her own impressive career includes 14 years of experience in disciplines such as three-dimensional communication, brand communication and trade fair communication – accumulated in German agencies and at Hauser & Partner Zürich. “I can offer a great deal, but I also want to learn a great deal.” Her summary of the first few months clearly shows that she’s come to the right place at Habegger: “I began my new role with curiosity and openness, and I can feel that my knowledge and my experience are in great demand here.”

Nils Hurni | Pre-Apprecentive Event Technology

Nils is right at the start of his career, but can already offer experience in the events sector as a freelancer.

Nils applied to Habegger because he had heard that – in contrast to most other events companies – apprentices are hired here. A friendly atmosphere in the workplace is not something that Nils takes for granted. Following negative experiences in his first training company, he can hardly believe his luck:

I fell in love with the team right from the very first day. There is so much room for individuality here.

Nils is familiar with the digital world as though there has never been any other. He has his own studio at home and is convinced that streaming concerts into living rooms will soon be a matter of course for all of us. He particularly loves the action that rigging, for instance, offers him. “Live technology is like a big gear. Whether audio, images or video, everyone makes their contribution and, in the end, everything has to be harmonised. This is Teamwork 101.”

Steffen Schmid | Project Leader Planning & Calculation

Steffen has been working in his new position since 1st January, thus making him part of the “big family”, as he calls Habegger. But has actually been part of it for a long time now, as he worked for us as a freelancer for ten years. In 2020, his path initially led him towards regulated working hours as an electrician in gardening and landscaping. However, he was missing the fast pace, the quick success and simply everything that fascinated him about the events sector. He feels changing career was worth a try – but now he’s arrived.

For me, it was always clear that, if I were to be employed in the sector, then it would be at Habegger.

He appreciates the collegial exchange and the special Habegger groove, which he was able to experience as a freelancer and in the first few months of his permanent position. “My colleagues are proud to be able to work for the company. Even when challenges get in the way, a huge creative machine kicks in and together we face it. You grow beyond yourself and the impossible becomes possible.”

André Sutter | Head of Marketing Communication

Live events are his passion – both professionally and in private life. He has spent the last 20 years working in managerial positions within marketing, including at Good News, Musik Hug, and Witzig. As the new Head of Marketing Communication at Habegger, he is able to combine his two passions, marketing and live communication.

When you’re able to work on something that gets your heart racing, you’ve won.

Whether jogging, biking or in the car – he doesn’t do anything without music, preferably by the Foo Fighters. Since his very first concert – Tina Turner at the Hallenstadion when he was 14 years old – he has experienced everything that makes the event industry so exciting: promoting concerts, collecting artists from the airport, walking beside Lake Zurich with Pink, watching countless concerts in the audience and from behind stage.

This is why it was already clear to André during the recruitment process:

I feel comfortable at Habegger.

Want to be a part of the Habegger family?

Our team will continue to broaden in the future, as we are always on the lookout for exceptional personalities for live communication.
