The 2022 event year is drawing to a close. High time to look ahead. We asked our departments where the journey is heading in 2023.
Hybrid events will continue to be in demand in 2023 – especially for international stagings. At national events, the trend is towards “back to normal”. The reason: the need for physical meetings is unbroken. Even if the combination of digital and physical event entails a slightly higher effort, it is worth it for organisers who want to expand their target group and reach or enable those who are subject to travel restrictions to participate. In short, the client gains planning security and flexibility with a hybrid event. The latter, along with a reduced environmental footprint, is what clients need in the event sector in 2023.
Hybrid events will continue to provide organisers with the flexibility they need in 2023.
Sustainability is also a big issue in the field of event technology. Thus, electricity consumption can be reduced through the intelligent choice of certain light sources. For example, instead of conventional lights or projectors, LED moving lights or laser projectors should be used. These consume only half as many kilowatts for the same output.
In the coming year, AR/VR technology will come into even sharper focus. AR & VR glasses are becoming more affordable and consequently more interesting for events.
Moreover, the importance of event documentation will increase even further in 2023. Organisers can benefit from synergies, especially with digital or hybrid events, and use the recording and additional film footage for post-communication.
LED moving lights not only create a beautiful lighting atmosphere – they also need less electricity.
Translucent concrete is an exciting material that can provide surprising moments in live communication. Thanks to light-conducting fibres, the heavy building material is transformed, appearing feather-light and offering viewers a new sensory experience. Ideal for the scenography of visitor centres, trade fair constructions or for events. We definitely want to see more of it in 2023.
On the one hand, productions still strive for “higher, faster, bigger”; on the other hand, we notice that ticket sales are declining. This may partly be due to the fact that many tickets from postponed events are still with the fans. At the same time, consumers are still cautious and tend to buy tickets at short notice, and sometimes only at the box office.
Tickets for events are being bought at increasingly short notice.
