Swiss Post – Direct Day 2020

With “Direct Day”, Swiss Post has been offering a specialist event for the dialogue marketing industry for over 20 years. Traditionally, the event takes place annually in the Kursaal Bern in front of a physical audience. In 2020, however, everything was a little different: as a result of the restrictions imposed by Corona and in keeping with the conference theme of “Transformation”, “Direct Day” was held digitally. The live stream was based on a TV show and was broadcast from the “Giesserei” in Oerlikon to around 1500 viewers. The well-known presenters Rainer Maria Salzgeber and Gülsha Adilji guided the event with charm and wit. They drew exciting perspectives and personal anecdotes from their high-calibre guests, such as ex-Formula 1 driver David Coulthard or comedian Viktor Giaccobo in an informal bar conversation and in the cosy fireplace room. Lively discussions followed in a web-talk session with international guests.

Habegger was responsible for all of the technology used on “Direct Day”. Around 20 employees took care of the broadcast as well as the lighting and sound technology over two days. The tight space on site and the external connections from abroad posed particular challenges for the team. Thanks to its many years of experience in broadcasting, Habegger was able to reliably produce a trouble-free and high-quality TV show as usual and offer the clients as well as the viewers a successful première of the digital “Direct Day”.
