The UNIA trade union organised demonstrations in four different cities in western Switzerland on 7 November 2022. A total of around 7,000 people took part in this day of protest on the renegotiation of the national master agreement (LMV) of the Swiss main construction industry.
In order to promote a sense of togetherness among the local members, and present a united front to the Swiss Association of Master Builders (SBC), it was important to the UNIA that the four venues should be connected by live video links. With our expertise in broadcast and event technology, we ensured smooth and latency-free audio and video transmission.
The signals were transmitted to our central direction team in Regensdorf, processed and then sent back with the final image to Lausanne, Fribourg, La Chaux-de-Fonds and Geneva, where they were displayed on large LED screens and projections. This minimised the need for staff resources in French-speaking Switzerland: the four locations were each supervised by a technician and a cameraman. As part of the hybrid event, we also implemented a livestream for UNIA’s social media channels.
