On 18 August 2022, the entire live communications sector came together at Halle 550 for the XAVER award ceremony, the event held by the EXPO Event Swiss LiveCom Association. For us, it was an emotional evening full of highlights: Two of our three nominated projects were presented with a XAVER Award, our apprentices won a special award and Peter Habegger, the founder of Habegger AG, was honoured for his life’s work.

The hybrid DACH networking event “BKW Engineering Event 2021” was able to triumph in the “Best Corporate Event” category against 17 strong projects and impress the award jury. The event, which was originally planned in a physical format, stood out thanks to its elaborate studio design, which resembled a late-night show, as well as due to the multimedia interactivity for the 2,200 audience members, which considerably promoted everyone’s active experience and the goal of achieving a sense of togetherness among the 50 engineering, architecture, appraisal and testing companies.
Thank you very much to the entire BKW team for the outstanding collaboration.

The “Sustainability Week 2021” by Credit Suisse impressed the XAVER expert jury. The global flagship event won the bronze XAVER Award in the “Best Corporate Event” category. The event was a hit thanks to its innovative implementation. It was the first event of its kind, which skilfully combined virtual and physical elements and invited participants into a 360° world. Over 70 well-known major players from business, sports, and society discussed sustainable growth and climate protection in around 21 different sessions.
Thank you very much to the Credit Suisse team for the great collaboration!

With the “Next Generation 2021” project, the next generation in our industry impressed not only the thousands of online participants over the last year but also the jury at this year’s XAVER Awards. The apprentice project, which was initiated by the SVTB and implemented in collaboration with 53 training companies from all over Switzerland, was presented with the Corona Special Award for innovative event formats during the pandemic. The aim of the nine-part concert series was to offer apprentices high-quality training, despite the Covid-related restrictions in the events industry. We were responsible for the implementation at Trafo Baden. Apprentices from various companies worked hand in hand to show famous Swiss music acts in their best light.
Thank you very much to all those involved in the project for the great collaboration!

Christof Murer, CEO Habegger AG 2008-2015, Peter Habegger, founder, and Jürg Schwarz, CEO Habegger AG since 2017
What began in 1983 with the mobile disco “Hurricane” under the name “Audio-Video Habegger” and the leasing of music systems and light shows is now an international comprehensive service provider in live communication named “Habegger AG”. No one else has shaped event equipment in Switzerland like Peter Habegger. For instance, he recognised at an early stage that the leasing of lighting and sound equipment could be operated as a business model and that large venues require permanent support for their event technology. Peter also always had a good nose for innovations. It was thus no accident that he staged the first laser show in Switzerland, thereby allowing undreamt-of possibilities in the 1990s to become the standard at the time, both for public and corporate events.
Peter Habegger sold the company in 2010. The whole team is incredibly proud that Peter has now been honoured for his life’s work with the “Lifetime Achievement XAVER Award”, thus receiving the most important award in our industry. We wholeheartedly think he deserves it. All the BEST, dear Peter!
